Chagrin Valley Council of Churches
raises $10,000
to feed the hungry this holiday season
The Chagrin Valley Councils of Churches has raised $10,000 this year by holding fund raising events like the Wine Tasting Party, at Joey's Restaurant on Monday, May 16th, a Dinner and a Movie on Sunday, November 6th at Chagrin Cinemas and Mindful Mondays, where 14 participating restaurants in the Chagrin area donate 10% of the bill on Mondays to feed the hungry. The funds will be distributed equally to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Geauga County Hunger Task Force.
Thanks to the everyone at Joey's for making the Wine Tasting such a great success,
and thanks to the Chagrin Cinemas for their overwhelming support of the Dinner and a Movie. Eleven area restaurants participated including Yours Truly, Washington St. Diner, Umami Asian Kitchen, Rick's Cafe, Raintree, Paninis, Joey's, Hunan by the Falls, Gamekeeper's, Cosentino's Catering, and Cafe Michael. Deserts were provided by Heinen's and Raised & Glazed. They were outstanding to work with and we appreciate your support for them.

Would you like to help our brothers and sisters who are hungry? Would you like to dine
out on Mondays while, at the same time, contribute to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Geauga County Hunger Task Force? On Monday nights, patrons can present a 10% coupon at a participating restaurant (scroll below for listing) and they will, in turn, donate that portion of the patron's check (excluding alcohol and gratuities) to the food banks. Each restaurant will be listed on the mindfulmondays.org website.
